  1. Event filter with query “SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA “Win32_Processor” AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99″ could not be reactivated in namespace “//./root/CIMV2” because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

  2. Thanks for this blog entry.
First time anywhere (in 15 years online) that I’ve seen a description of how to find an event log.
I’m planning to start using gigatribe right away.
    First saw details on download.CNET.

  3. I still can’t get connected to gigatribe i am still getting this error message

  4. I’m using 3.01.002 beta, and Gigatribe crashes without an error message. It just disappears. There’s no record of the crash in the event log since there is no error message.

It crashes more often when I have a lot of contacts connected. I have 10 total contacts, and it is pretty stable with 2 connected. With 6 people connected, it crashes pretty regularly every 30-60 minutes. I can’t tell whether it crashes more when I am downloading more, because when more people are connected, I have more downloads. Usually, my current number of downloads equals the current number of contacts connected. So whether the extra downloads or extra connections are causing it, I don’t know. It usually crashes when I am doing nothing, although it has crashed rarely when I’ve been browsing through files.

This problem has been constant with every new version of Gigatribe (3+) I’ve tried. The old version (2.52) never crashed for me.
Have other people reported similar crashes without error messages?

      • @Arnaud,

There is no record of Gigatribe crashes in my event log. It quits without an error message. It just quits by itself, and it disappears from the list of my running processes. If I wasn’t paying attention when it happens, I wouldn’t even know it crashed. My event logger has no errors related to Gigatribe in it. That’s part of what is making this so frustrating.

    • @Megan,

I have the same issue, particularly for me, it crashes when I have lot of files queued for upload (rather then download).

Program just dies, no messages, nothing recorded in the event log.

Been the same ever since I upgraded to 3.x.

Oh, and BTW, I can still make everything appear new. If you want to repeat it. Make shared folders on a network share, pull network cable from machine, gigatribe locks up (becomes non-responding), no choice but to force-terminate gigatribe, and bingo!: All files appear new again!

      • @Barry

As explained to Megan before, I inform the development team today about this crash issue. Same as Megan? no eventlog?

      • @Arnaud,

Is it possible that our issues are related to a glitch with the “Shutdown after transfers are completed” function? My computer doesn’t shut down when Gigatribe crashes, but someone else who had the same issue as all of us told me that when he hit the “cancel all scheduled shutdowns” button every hour or two, the program stopped crashing/disappearing.

  5. My entire GigaTribe completely crashed… First it took hours to retrieve and then download the data files. Then it would just stop. NOW…I cannot open the program at all—it says that another version is currently running! I rebooted several times and still get the same message. I tried to uninstall and it won’t even uninstall because it still says another version is currently running! What could be the problem? Thanks

Gigatribe had just opened and I was approving a new contact.

  7. I finally got it downloaded, now my user name and password won’t work, I came up with a new user name and password it says invalit

  8. Always crashes on launch. WinXP SP3 event log:
Faulting application gigatribe.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module qtnetwork4.dll, version 4.7.1.0, fault address 0x000517c6. (Actual version is latest version downloaded from Gigatribe web site 3/27/11).

Workaround: set Zonealarm firewall to deny internet access, app launches anyway, fails to contact server, but stays loaded in system tray. Then re-enable internet access in firewall, log in again, app proceeds without problems.

  9. I was getting an error that an old version was running and to shut down that one before I uninstalled. I only have one version downloaded. I finally was able to uninstall giga and then I reinstalled it but now it will load and I can see my contacts and it says I am available but none of the files are loading on the right side. It shows the orange circle saying loading. It’s been like this for over an hour. How do I get giga to fully load? I have been very frustrated with this for days. I run a daycare and rely on getting preschool learning activities and I can’t do anything at all. Please help.

  10. The program Just wont open for me. I uninstalled and cleared all remaining files, and cleared my registry 3 times. Every time i try to open GigaTribe My laptop thinks for a few seconds and then nothing. It shows it in my running processes for about 30 seconds and then gone… I have 0 Contacts, and I haven’t downloaded anything from gigatribe yet as it wont even start…

  11. I am getting this error message when i download Aborted(Write error) can someone help me please what i should do or what is causing it

  12. Gigatribe crashes without an error message. It just disappears. There’s no record of the crash in the event log since there is no error message. If I run it as admin it will run fine but I can’t add any folders to share. If I run it just normal, as soon as I click folders it closes. No crash message, nothing just closes?

    – how many contacts you have in GigaTribe? 198 total 53 connected
    – how many files where you downloading when GigaTribe crashed? None
    – what were you doing when GigaTribe crashed – No matter what I click, Gigatribe crashes immediately. The only feature I can use is private chat.
I uninstalled and installed an older version with no success so then installed the latest version.

    • We’ve checked the commands logs of GigaTribe user associated with your email.
It seems you’ve stayed connected for 2 days.
      Is everything back to normal?
Do you have any tip to share ?

      Best Regards

The first time I had started downloading 12 pdf files. Thje download completed but there were more to download and it just crashed before last file was complete. No warning. No error message. I removed the name of my computer as I don’t want that published here.
