We just released GigaTribe beta 3.09.
Lots of bugs have been fixed as well as spelling mistakes.
The main improvement is about the user interface with a completely new look & feel (screenshots).
Leave your comments. Let us know what you think about it!
The new GUI looks quite nice actually!
I’d be curious to know with which language GigaTribe is developed.
Still no luck for Linux users. I’ve just tried to install this release via wine on my Linux box. I cannot see any text in the setup wizard. Probably it’s a special font I don’t have in the standard wine installation.
I keep my fingers crossed for next releases 🙂
GigaTribe version 3 has been developed in C++ using QT.
why doesnt this version show thumbnails yet in pics like the 2.52 does figured you have that fixed by now thanks todd everything else looks great
I loved the v3 beta version before really more. may be question of taste. but big wish for the next version: to share own folders giga needs really endless times to read the folders (first calculate and the reading… endless long time). please optimized this.. please!
The other big wish, please make it configuratable to choose the folder not only for the Downloads, but also for the “sharedfoldes”. For safety reasons it is really bad, that the complete folderstructure is located on C: and can not be moved. My suggestion: please create a portable version of Gigatribe. This gives us more flexibility and more safe useage. best wishes and regards, ralf
I wish you would allow the icons to be even larger. It is very hard to see an icon before downloading and sometimes picking out say a crochet pattern for instance seeing the picture is better than any description.
@Dee
To view preview pictures before downloading, just click on the “display” button.
Stephane, it will work in Wine if you make wine’s font size 171 dpi.
Change wine’s font size under “Configure Wine > Graphics” to 171 DPI…
then it will work.
Success on running gigatribe with wine on Ubuntu 10.04 lucid!
Until a linux version is created, I can run with wine. I did not have success connecting
with earlier versions of ubuntu, but now it seems to be working in lucic … (so far)
Here is my version information:
% lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release: 10.04
Codename: lucid
% uname -m
x86_64
% dpkg -l | grep wine
ii wine 1.1.42-0ubuntu4
ii wine1.2 1.1.42-0ubuntu4
ii wine1.2-gecko 1.0.0-0ubuntu4
To install, I just installed wine and then ran the installer.
I did not need to configure the Wine Graphics to 171 DPI…
(a post suggested to do this in a earlier version of wine)
% sudo apt-get install wine
% wine ~/Desktop/gigatribe_setup3.01.005.exe
I cannot connect, “You have to use the latest Version”
Why is that?
You need to install our last stable version, GigaTribe 3.01.005.
You can download it here: http://www.gigatribe.com/en/download
hello all,
I installed gigatribe last version with playonlinux (for an automatic installation of wine configuration)
everything is ok
Gigatribe is runing nice but no connection…
The up/donw connection seems not work, as a fire wall effect. (the IP adresse in gigatribe is corresponding an open adress)
My linux is Ubuntu 10.10.
So is my gigatribe not working because I don’t have easy connect?
Thnak for help
